A Roscommon based astronomer claims to have recorded close to 40 sightings of UFOs in the Shannonside region over the last 22 years.
Dr Eamonn Ansboro operates out of the Kingsland Observatory near Boyle in Co Roscommon, where he works as the Director of Space Exploration Ltd
The astronomer operates a network of cameras and equipment around Lough Key designed to detect unidentified objects.
UFOs are now more commonly known as UAPs, which stands for Unidentified Aerial Phenomenons.
Dr Ansboro says most sightings follow a similar pattern.
"When people say, and I've often been asked this over the many years, well how come there's no sharp images of these things? Well actually something credible has happened. It seems we've discovered a new space time situation within the object when it's projecting it's light".
