The Irish Blood Transfusion service is appealing to people in Roscommon to attend their local pop-up clinic this week.
The call comes following a serious shortage in supply with just three and half day's stock available.
A pre-amber alert has been issued to hospitals to ensure there is enough blood to carry out elective procedures in the coming days.
A donation clinic will take place at the Dr Hyde Centre in Roscommon today and tomorrow between 4pm and 8pm.
Speaking to the Joe Finnegan Show Operations Director Paul McKinney is urging locals to attend.
