Gardaí have started to identify suspects, in their investigation into a violent burglary in County Roscommon on Monday.
According to the Examiner, the gang members made efforts to hide their accents in the attack, that left a 94 year-old woman and her two sons 'traumatised'.
Technical exams are currently underway at the scene of the property in Ballintubber, with investigators seeking to gather DNA samples.
Assistant Garda Commissioner for Community Engagement Paula Hilman has this advice for anyone who feels afraid in their homes following the incident.
I do recognise that something like this does increase the fear of crime
Especially for people living on their own, we do recognise.
I would say that many people have local family or friends that you can contact.
Keep the house secure, if anyone calls check their identification and check they are genuine.
Also don't keep large amounts of cash in the house.
