A well known Roscommon business has gotten the go ahead for a significant renewable energy infrastructure development.
Ganly's of Athlone have applied for close to 1,200 square metres of solar panels to be installed on the hardware store's roof.
The popular retailer lodged the application for their store on the Roscommon Road in Athlone.
Plans for the photovoltaic panels were approved by Roscommon County planners with 2 conditions attached. The application had been lodged before new government regulations stating that solar panel installation would not require planning permission, with the details of that legislation yet to be confirmed.
