A Roscommon business owner says a burglary gang left a trail of destruction following an early morning break-in. The gang made off with tills and a large quantity of cigarettes during the break in at Mee's Daybreak in Knockcroghery this morning. Owner Luke Mee says the alarm was raised at 4am when the Phonewatch system was triggered intruders.

Gardaí have since confirmed a burnt out car was discovered in Oran following another robbery on the outskirts of Roscommon. They have since appealed for information and dash cam footage from anyone travelling between Athlone and Castlerea from 10 o'clock last night to 6 o'clock this morning. Speaking to Shannonside News, Daybreak owner Luke Mee said the gang forced entry through a side door of the premises:
