The new Cathaoirleach of Roscommon has called on the IDA to develop an advanced factory in Roscommon town.
Cllr Paschal Fitzmaurice says he hopes to meet with the agency to push for the development on its lands in the town.
The Fianna Fáil councillor was elected as Cathaoirleach for the second time at last Friday's AGM.
He defeated fellow Castlerea man and Independent Ireland councillor Nigel Dineen by 12 votes to four.
Cllr Fitzmaurice will now lead a coalition in the Chamber made up of his own party, Fine Gael and three Independents.
