The new Cathaoirleach of Roscommon County Council says he's considering running in the next General Election. Cllr Paschal Fitzmaurice was elected Cathaoirleach of the county for the second time at last Friday's AGM. He won re-election to the local authority with 1,853 first preference votes earlier this month and quickly set his sights on the Dáil.
The Castlerea businessman says he's been inundated by well wishers urging him to enter national politics. The Fianna Fáil councillor was first elected to the local authority in 2009, winning re-election in 2014 and 2019.
