Roscommon Chamber of Commerce President Brendan Allen says support for businesses that re-open this week will be vital in ensuring that they survive into the future.
Brendan Allen who runs Castlemine Farm Meats with his brothers say any businesses fortunate enough to have been able to adapt and stay open during the past weeks, have noticed a big surge in shopping local.
He says while every businessperson is very eager to re-open, it will be a different challenge for every different kind of business and some will have substantial extra costs, especially in the hospitality sector.
The Roscommon businessman says shopping local will never have been more important as the economy tries to get back on its feet and he's hoping the public will realise that.
