Fianna Fáil Councillor John Keogh says he would be interested in contesting the party's selection convention in Roscommon-Galway. Nominations opened today with the convention due to be held in late September or early October.
Senator Eugene Murphy and Dr Martin Daly are the only candidates who have so far confirmed they will seek a nomination whilst Cllr Paschal Fitzmaurice has yet to confirm his intentions. Councillor Keogh, who is based in South Roscommon, says should he receive a nomination from party members, he will contest the convention:
