Roscommon council receives over €14,000 in derelict sites levies

Roscommon County Council has written to the owners of 25 derelict sites to demand almost 141,000 euro in levies.
The notices were issued in April and so far over 14,000 euro has been received.

A levy of 7 per cent of the market value of a derelict property applies every year - and Roscommon council says notices continue to be issued to owners.
Independent councillor Tom Crosby says the fees are justified.
