Roscommon County Council will sign off on a budget of nearly €80 million for next year later today.
A third of the money will come from property tax or commercial rates.
Roscommon councillors will meet this morning to sign off on a €79.6 million budget for next year.
Nearly €31 million will be spent on roads and almost 11 million on housing and building.
The council is also putting 'significant resources' into minimising the risk of cyber-attacks in the future, with ICT infrastructure to be strengthened.
A budget of €118,000 is being set aside for the maintenance and operation of Castlerea Swimming Pool next year - an increase of €38,000.
It will allow the pool to open for 12 weeks next summer.
But the council is concerned about Roscommon Leisure Centre, saying the sustainability of the facility is a continuous challenge.
It requires a subvention to meet its financial costs.
For next year, this is €297,000 - an increase of €32,000.
The council is set to increase commercial rates by 5 per cent next year, in the first rise in around 20 years.
