A Roscommon councillor and nephew of John O'Mahony has paid tribute to the legendary GAA manager. The funeral of Mr O'Mahony, who passed away last Saturday at the age of 71, will take place tomorrow in Ballaghaderreen. Castlerea-based councillor Gareth Scahill said the late Kilmovee native launched his election campaign back in April.
He said he was probably Mr O'Mahony's final political project and was extremely grateful for his help and advice. Cllr Scahill said John's proudest achievement and most successful team, however, was his family.
