Roscommon County Council has begun assessing the condition of roads around Rooskey following last night's severe flash floods.
Thousands of euro worth of damage was caused to roads and homes in the wider Rooskey area after heavy rain over the last 24 hours resulted in fast-rising flood water.
The local authority is currently surveying the damaged routes with a view to making the roads safe and traversable in the short term.
Following emergency works, a further assessment will take place to determine what long-term remedial works are needed to fully repair the road.
