Tom Crosby says he's lost almost four stone in the past year alone after his doctor prescribed him the drug.

A Roscommon Councillor is calling on the Government to make anti-diabetic drug Ozempic more widely available. Tom Crosby says he's lost almost four stone in the past year alone after his doctor prescribed him the drug. Ozempic is licensed for prescription in Ireland to treat cases of type-2 diabetes and off-label for obesity.

Cllr Crosby says he was at risk of developing type 2 diabetes and weighed 16 stone before his daughter recommended the medication. Ozempic has proven controversial and there are have been calls to regulate it to prevent casual use. But the Tarmonbarry councillor says it should be made more accessible:
