A Roscommon County Councillor is condemning the removal of a life ring from a popular water way in Castlerea. The life buoy was taken from it's housing at the Demesne in Castlerea over the weekend. It was later found in the vicinity by members of the public and has since been returned to its proper location.
Roscommon Councillor Gareth Scahill is reminding the public of the importance of local safety equipment such as life buoys and defibrillators. The former lifeguard says people most remember a stolen life buoy could be a stolen life:
