A Roscommon councillor says the amount of money allocated to Women in Spot is 'disappointing'. Emer Kelly was reacting last week's announcement Local Sports Partnership funding. Roscommon received over €400,000 with a further €3,830 allocated for Women in Sport.
Elsewhere, Longford was given €277,539 with €9,000 for Women in Sport while Leitrim received €307,419 and €13,000 for Women in Sport. Cllr Kelly said the amount of funding allocated isn't enough to encourage women to get involved in sports:
