Roscommon County Councillors are calling on Minister Roderic O'Gorman to visit Ballaghaderreen prior to the arrival of more refugees.
It emerged last week over 100 people seeking international protection are expected to be housed there under a Temporary Emergency Accommodation Scheme.
At this month's meeting of Roscommon County Council both Councillor Michael Mulligan and Councillor Liam Callaghan raised concern over the lack of services in the town, with some services including health and education under extreme pressure.
Councillors agreed at yesterday's meeting to write to the Equality and Integration Minister to seek a meeting with him in Ballaghaderreen.
