The tender has been opened by the council in anticipation of a decision on a planning application for the embattled flood alleviation works.

Roscommon County Council are seeking tenders to run a pumping system to remove water from Lough Funshinagh. The tender has been opened by the council in anticipation of a decision on a planning application for the embattled flood alleviation works. The local authority is now seeking an operator to run and maintain the temporary pumping system to remove water from Lough Funshinagh to the Cross River.

The €200,000 project will include the repair and maintenance of the pumps and the operation of the equipment. with the closing date for submissions the 18th of October. Local Councillor Laurence Fallon says that Roscommon County Council are getting ready to progress any approved works as quick as possible:
