The PRO of the Roscommon Sub Aqua club is thanking the Sligo Search and Rescue Helicopter and other services following an incident during a training excercise in Mayo yesterday.
Martin Dowd says members were undergoing routine training at Kilcummin Head when one of the members encountered difficulties when he was coming to the surface after being over 40 feet under the water.
The diver was treated at the scene by colleagues , and other services including the Coast Guard, before being flown to Galway Hospital for treatment in a special hyperbaric unit there.
Martin Dowd says these incidents don't happen very often and they are very grateful to have had all the specialist help yesterday.
