A 27 year old Roscommon footballer and junior doctor is warning other young people not to be complacent about the health implications of contracting Covid.
Joanne Cregg was working at University Hospital Galway in the days leading up to Christmas when she developed what she described as "head cold" symptoms and tested positive for Covid.
She says she never would have expected to become as sick as she did over the next 7 to 8 days, and was on the brink of going to hospital on Christmas Day.
Joanne is back at work now but says she still has lingering symptoms of intense fatigue and a cough, and is concerned about how her health could be affected into the future.
