Lough Funshinagh resident Pairic Beattie says relocation is not any real option for him and his family.
He was commenting on reports from yesterday's council meeting which heard that one of the few options left open is that local residents would be offered homes somewhere else.
The local farmer says it would be impossible for him to re-establish a proper farming enterprise again.
He says he doesn't believe the council would be offering anything other than a basic house, and re-building anything else would be impossible due to inflation:
"I have land down the road that I could build on but the Council has to write me a cheque or the OPW for half-a-million because I'll have to build a new house and I have to build a new farmyard.
"Anything less or anything more is no good to me."
"Realistically all they will do is they give you the bare minimum to build a small bungalow house to house two people and that's it and that's the Council covered."
