A Roscommon farmer says the theft of livestock from his farm last week has left him shaken.
Eight bull calves being reared for organic beef were stolen from a field in the Cornafulla area on last Thursday night /Friday morning.
Padraic Molloy who was rearing the animals says he doesn't know if he'll get more in to replace them because whoever took the others could strike again.
He says whoever took the calves from the field must have some knowledge about his land, and that's bothering him more than any financial loss.
Whoever took my calves would've had to have known the calves were there.
It's not by any means the value of the calves, that's not what knocked us back, it was the fact that people were able to come in the middle of the night down to an isolated area, and take them, nearly as if they were being watched,
All these facts that say we were being watched, or how would they know so much.
