A Roscommon restaurant and food business owner says the industry is disillusioned with a lack of planning for restaurants and bars to reopen to customers this summer.
Earlier this week groups representing pubs, restaurants and hotels warned TDs and Senators that many businesses are on the brink of permanent closure. They called for the 9 percent VAT rate to remain in place until 2025, along with an extension to the waiver on commercial rates paid to local authorities.
Rooskey native Andrew Reynolds is calling for more clarity on plans to allow indoor or outdoor dining later this year as well as further financial support for owners and operators.
