Roscommon GAA chairman Brian Carroll has been approached by Fine Gael to run in the general election, Shannonside FM understands. It's also emerged Dympna Daly-Finn wants to run for the party in the Roscommon-Galway selection convention on September 20th.
The Arigna woman ran in the local elections in the Boyle Local Electoral Area in June, but narrowly missed out on a seat. Ballinasloe senator Aisling Dolan is also contesting the convention, while Daly-Finn - a married nurse with two children - confirmed her intentions this evening:
