Roscommon GAA chairman rules out running in General Election

Roscommon GAA chairman Brian Carroll has ruled out running for Fine Gael in the general election. Shannonside FM understands he told the party last week he won’t be running, despite repeated approaches.

Four people have been nominated to contest Fine Gael’s Roscommon-Galway selection convention in the Abbey Hotel in Roscommon Hotel on September 20th. They are Ballinasloe senator Aisling Dolan, south Roscommon councillor John Naughten, Ballinasloe councillor Alan Harney and Dympna Daly-Finn, from Arigna.
