Roscommon GAA have lodged planning permission to construct a Centre of Excellence outside of the County Town.
The County Board have applied to build the new facility on the Racecourse Road in Roscommon Town.
Plans for the centre include three full-size grass pitches, two Astroturf pitches, a seated spectator terrace and a building containing offices, a gym, canteen and dressing-rooms.
It's also planned to install solar panels on the roof of the main complex building, while the development would be surrounded by a perimeter walking and running track.
It's planned to name the centre after the late Dermot Earley, a well known former Roscommon footballer.
