Only one person who lives in the Shannonside region was successful in the Seanad elections over the weekend. Longford councillor Pauric Brady won a seat on the agricultural panel.
But all other local politicians failed, including outgoing senators Eugene Murphy and Aisling Dolan. Roscommon-Galway TD Martin Daly says it's disappointing no one was elected from his constituency:
