Gardaí in Ballaghaderreen are currently investigating an incident of accommodation fraud.
An 18 year old woman transferred €2,500 to someone she believed was the landlord of a property but later discovered the home was never for rent.
The original contact was made through Facebook Messenger to a male who advertised the property.

With the college year beginning in the coming weeks, Gardaí are appealling to the public to be extra vigilant.
Crime prevention officer for Longford-Roscommon, Sergeant Damian Bartley, says people should never agree to rent a property without viewing it first.
