Roscommon Gardaí stop motorist 45kph over the limit on N5

Roscommon Gardaí are highlighting the dangers of speeding following a traffic stop in the county this week.

Gardaí on patrol in the Ballinagare area clocked a motorist driving 45 kilometres over the speed limit on the N5 near the village.

The N5 on either side of the village has a speed limit of 100 kilometres an hour, while the village requires motorists to travel no more than 60 km an hour.

Roscommon Gardaí pulled the driver over and served them with a €160 fine with 3 penalty points set to be added on their license.
