Ballaghaderreen Concerned Citizens has vowed to continue its fight against the development of modular homes for refugees in the town.
The group's chairperson has confirmed that a committee of ten people has now been formed as part of its efforts.
It follows a heated public meeting in the west Roscommon town last week, where many people spoke out against proposals for 47 modular homes for over 200 refugees.
A follow-up meeting was held last night, where the new committee of Ballaghaderreen Concerned Citizens was selected.
Chairperson Sharon Byrne Murphy says the group will be pushing to stop the housing development - and lobbying for more facilities and resources for Ballaghaderreen.
