Roscommon HAC calls for urgent clarity on planned rehab unit

The government committed to the unit in 2011 after Roscommon Hospital's A&E closed and funding was approved four years later.

The Roscommon Hospital Action Committee is calling for confirmation the new rehab unit is moving forward - after a delay of several years.

The government committed to the unit in 2011 after Roscommon Hospital's A&E closed and funding was approved four years later.

But it remains only at design stage and there is no clarity on when construction will start at the site, beside Roscommon Hospital.

Independent councillor Valerie Byrne, from the HAC, says the delay is unacceptable.
