Roscommon has the lowest number of electric car sales in Ireland.
Only 3.4 per cent of new cars registered in the county between January 2020 and June 2024 were EVs.
That is the lowest in the country, and makes up just one in 29 registrations in the space of four and a half years.
According to the Irish Independent, in most counties, they make up between one in 10 and one in 14.
The other Shannonside counties also rank poorly.
The rate for Longford was 7.7 per cent and in Leitrim it was 7.9 per cent.
Roscommon-Galway TD and former environment minister, Denis Naughten, has been reacting to the new figures.
