Parents in Roscommon are being urged to make the most of information gathered from teenagers in the region over the past couple of years to improve outcomes for younger children.
Surveys were carried out among teenagers in Roscommon, Mayo, and Galway, over the past few years as part of a special pilot project known as "Planet Youth" which already works to help young people in Iceland.
The findings of the surveys have now been published in information booklets which have been distributed to 54 primary schools across Co Roscommon before Christmas.
The project is aimed at helping parents of younger children pre-empt some of the problems that today's teenagers are having.
Emmet Major says parents can use the information in a very practical way with their children.
