The Roscommon Hospital Action Committee is calling for the sterilisation of theatre equipment to be carried out locally.
Currently all utensils are sent to Portiuncula in Ballinasloe to be made fit for use in operations.
They are hoping to meet with the Health Minister when he comes to Roscommon to open the new Hospice centre on Friday next.

Councillor Valerie Byrne is a member of the HAC, she says they will also press Stephen Donnelly for an update on the development of a rehabilitation centre at the hospital.
