Soaring property prices in the west of Ireland are no surprise according to a local housing expert.
That’s the view of Gerry Coffey, Ballinlough Native and President of Institute of Professional Auctioneers and Valuers, as new statistics show rising house prices west of the Shannon.
The CSO's Residential Property Price Index shows house prices went up by 10-point-8 percent in the last 12 months to September.
Longford was recorded as having some of the lowest property prices in the country, coming under Roscommon and Leitrim.
Speaking on the Joe Finnegan Show today, Gerry Coffey says that almost all regional estate agents are reporting high levels of clients, with demand outstripping supply.
The Ballinlough man believes that unaffordable prices in cities along with the acceptance of working from home has cemented rural Ireland as an attractive location.
