The Irish Farmers Association says a decision to halt works on the emergency overflow pipe at Lough Funshinagh will be hugely worrying for farmers.
Friends of the Irish Environment has taken action to stop the flood relief scheme works at the lake in County Roscommon .
It claims the works could cause serious permanent damage to the sensitive habitats.
