A HIQA report has found that residents in a Roscommon disability centre are well supported to live a life they enjoy.
The unannounced inspection on Bramble Services was carried out in April of this year.
Bramble Services is located in a town in Co. Roscommon and is run by Brothers of Charity Services Ireland.
The centre provides a residential and respite service for up to five male and female adults, with mild to severe intellectual disabilities and who may fall within the autistic spectrum.
There were 2 residents present in the centre on the day, however inspectors did not have an opportunity to speak with them.
The report observed that residents were out and about in the community and involved in activities that they enjoyed and found meaningful.
It also found that the centre was comfortably furnished and decorated, suitably equipped, and well maintained with plenty of space where residents could relax or carry out activities that they liked.
Inspectors noted that it was clear the service suited the specific needs and interests of the residents and respite users who lived there, and that they were well-supported by staff to live the life that they enjoyed and preferred.
The Roscommon based centre was found to be "Substiantially Compliant" or "Compliant" in all areas of inspection, with some minor improvements to the guide for residents recommended.
