Roscommon LEA has recorded 68 new Covid cases in last fortnight

The incidence rate around the region has been generally declining

The local electoral area taking in Roscommon town and surrounds has recorded a 14 day incidence rate of Covid  of 299.1 ,by far the highest in the Shannonside region.

The area had a total of 68 new confirmed case of the disease over the past two weeks.

The Athlone local electoral area in the county had the second highest rate locally with 27 new cases in the last fortnight putting it at 135 cases per one hundred thousand of population.

The Boyle LEA had 23 new cases over the same period giving it a rate of 105.

The LEA taking in Longford town and surrounds had 21  cases giving it the highest rate in the county at 130 per 100,000, while the Ballymahon area has recorded a rate of just 56 with 8 new cases recorded in the last fortnight.

The Granard Local Electoral Area in north Longford had 10 cases resulting in an incident rate of 93.

Two LEA's in Leitrim, Ballinamore and Manorhamilton recorded less than 5 cases each over the past fortnight while the Carrick-on-Shannon area had 12 cases giving it the highest rate in the county at 105.
