Roscommon native Gerry Redican is urging people to take the continuing Covid-19 threat seriously.
The Tralee based man underwent a single right lung transplant 2 years ago and also lives with a heart condition and type 2 diabetes.
He tested positive in March when the outlook for people with his medical history was considered very bleak.
Speaking on this morning's Joe Finnegan Show, Mr Redican says while he realises he was so lucky to survive, Covid-19 is still a clear and present danger.
He says people need to take public health advice seriously.
