A special remembrance service organised by Roscommon/Mayo Hospice will take place later this week.
The ecumenical event will be held on Sunday January 15th at St. John's Rest and Care Centre on the grounds of Knock Shrine at 3.45PM.
The names of those who've had lights or cards sponsored for them during the foundation's Shine a Light Christmas campaign will be entered into the hospice's book of remembrance.
Mayo Roscommon Hospice CEO Martina Jennings says it's a special service.
"Every light on that three, every card that's bought through shine a light is to remember someone special, whether living or dead or someone who's going through a tough time. We then have an ecumenical service on the 3rd Sunday in January in St John's Rest and Care in Knock and all I can say is it's really beautiful service. It can very emotional, very poignant, but very special and a lovely way to finish off the Christmas and start off the new year. Everyone is welcome to attend that service".
