A local MEP has been advised to install security at his Roscommon home after threats were made towards his young daughter on social media.
Independent MEP for the Midlands and the North West, Luke 'Ming' Flanagan, attended Castlerea Garda Station this afternoon following a number of threats made on the video app TikTok.
The comments made reference to the MEP's 6-year-old daughter and stated the author of the messages knows where the politician lives.
I've just left Castlerea Garda Station after reporting threats on my TikTok account towards my 6 year old daughter. We've been advised by the Gardai to get security for our house This is so wrong. It's impossible to do one's job in this situation. pic.twitter.com/iXKrEt2sEa
