A Roscommon mother is praising the work of Crumlin Children's Hospital since her daughter first started attending the facility eight years ago.
Zoe Cryan from Castleplunkett was born at 24 weeks and was diagnosed with cerebral palsy, her mum Siobhan says she spent almost 18 months in Dublin and continues to attend appointments at the hospital.
This year's Shannonside Northern Sound Christmas Jumper appeal which takes place today is raising funds for Crumlin along with other Children's Health Foundation Hospitals in Temple Street, Connolly and Tallaght.
Siobhan says all fundraising for the Dublin facility is hugely beneficial with ongoing research and specialist treatments taking place there.
"We have a long history with it and she recieved amazing treatment and care there and still continues to do so. We have many appointments there and she has lots of nurses she loves to visit when she goes back up to Crumlin. You form relationships when you're in a hospital for so long. They just have a great way about them with kids and explaining things to your kids. There's huge research going on in Crumlin and you have specialties that you won't find anywhere else alongside Temple Street and Tallaght.
