A Roscommon mother is encouraging the public to support the Make a Wish Foundation during their fundraising day.
The charity grants wishes to children living with life-threatening and limiting illnesses, with over 2,950 wishes granted to date.
14 year old Adam Reddington from County Roscommon was diagnosed with a brain tumour at a young age.
Last year the sports fan got the chance to get a behind the scenes look at the commentator's box at a Leinster game in the RDS.
He also got to attend the captains run meeting high profile rugby players.
His mum Elaine says the work of Make A Wish has a lasting impact on the child.
'The memories that it creates is unbelievable and for the child who spent a lot of time immobile and not able to move and a lot of time in and out of hospital. Those memories are invaluable and he can put up the phone and look back at the photos and those are the things that keep him going. Make a wish don't get any government funding or anything. It relies solely on the kindness and generosity of the public to fund all of these wishes as they do everything possible for these children.'
