Roscommon town has been named as 'Ireland's best kept large town' at an awards ceremony in Belfast this afternoon. Ireland's Best Kept Town Awards recognise towns and villages from across the island of Ireland and took place in the city earlier today. Randalstown in County Antrim was named as Ireland's Best Kept Town for 2024 while Malin in Donegal and Roscommon won Best Kept Village and Best Kept Large Town respectively.
Members of Roscommon's Tidy Towns committee were on hand to receive the award at Riddel Hall in Belfast today. Tidy Towns Chairperson Kathleen Shanagher said the award was testament to the hard work of local authorities, businesses and volunteers.
