A Roscommon native who spent time with Olivia Newton-John has described the 73 year old singer as a ‘caring, loving and wholesome lady’.
Martin Nolan who’s an executive director at Julien’s Antiques based in California, first met the actress in 2019 at her home in Santa Barbara while organising a charity auction.
The Kiltoom native says the Grease star had a great love for Ireland and he was fortunate enough to accompany her on a trip to Newbridge silverware to view outfits she had previously worn.
The award winning performer passed away peacefully at her ranch in south California last night and speaking on Let’s Talk earlier Martin recalled his visit to Ireland with the star.
''When she came to Ireland she stayed in Kildare, she loved horses so they were right there at the Curragh. She wanted to go to an Irish pub with music. We did that in Ballymore Eustace in Murphy's pub and a fantastic music session. She loved the song Molly Malone. She loved life and wanted to live life to the full, and it's so sad that we lost her. It's so so sad because we need more good people like her in the world and we lost a really good one yesterday.''
