A south Roscommon Care home is being praised for its work during the Covid-19 pandemic following the release of a HIQA inspection Report.
An unannounced inspection of the Tearmainn Bhride Nursing Home in Bridewell, Athlone took place at the start of this year.
The centre, run by TBNH Limited, provides long and short term care for up to 29 residents.
Inspectors noted on arrival that staff followed all Covid-19 protocols, and in general interacted with residents in a positive, engaging and patient manner.
Service users reported that varied activities were supported over the pandemic despite the restrictions imposed, with family members speaking positively about the care received by their loved ones.
The facility received 13 compliances out of 17, with the remaining four areas marked as substantially compliant.
These included issues in record keeping, individual assessment, infection control and complaints procedure.
Pre-signed cleaning checklists and examples of improper storage were some of the infection control issues highlighted.
Management has confirmed that the notified issues have been addressed.
