Parents living in Co Roscommon are paying up to €820 a month on creche fees for each child.
According to the Irish Independent, prices in Roscommon start at €640 a month. In Longford, they range from €680 to €740, while in Leitrim, they go from €420 and €600 euro a month.
The charges are for full-day creche care. The investigation found there's a €1,200 gap between the cheapest and most expensive creches in Ireland, ranging from €340 in Monaghan to nearly €1,600 in south Dublin.
