Patients of Roscommon Hospital are being urged to take part in a survey to help deliver a more person-centred health service.
The Health Information and Quality Assurance body is inviting any person over the age of 16 who spent 24 hours or more in hospital and were discharged during the month of May to participate.
It's hoped the questionnaire will provide a clear picture of the safety and quality of care in Irish hospitals, as seen through the eyes of patients.
Now it's fifth year, Roscommon hospital received the third highest rating in the country last year.
Conor Foley from HIQA explains how the survey works.
''Roscommon is one of the stronger responders in terms of the response rate across the country. Usually more than half of the people who've been discharged, that are eligible actually do respond, which is fantastic. One element of the survey that allows people to really share their stories is that there is open ended questions within it that people can write in their own answers. It's not just a tick the box type questionnaire, but they can really tell their story from start to finish in terms of, you know, how they felt and what was good and where they'd like to see things improve.''
