The proposed closure of Roscommon post office has been raised in the Dáil and Seanad in recent days.
Last week, An Post confirmed it would be implementing a new business strategy for its Roscommon town service.
The post office in the county town will now be run by a contractor and will most likely move from its current location on the Square.

Speaking in the Dáil earlier today, local TD Denis Naughten explained how people want the post office maintained in its current location and expanded to meet the growing needs of the community:
