A public meeting will today hear about strong opposition to more refugees being accommodated in Co Roscommon.

The former Cuisle care centre at Donamon Castle currently accommodates 26 Ukrainian refugees.

The Devine Word Missionaries is holding a public meeting at 7.30 tonight in Donamon Castle to discuss whether it should house more refugees in the future.

They’ve received a request to do so by the Department of Integration.

Local councillor Anthony Waldron says it should be rejected.
